#MKBPOWER

The Metropolitan Kalamazoo Branch of the NAACP is a civil rights organization committed to ensuring the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination. As the Kalamazoo Branch celebrates over 75 years of civil rights, we have remained committed to our continuous efforts to provide the community with support on issues that affect us all.

The NAACP is the oldest civil rights organization in the USA (113 years old). Since its inception, the impactful work of the NAACP has changed the course of American history, fighting for equality equity and justice. After the Springfield Race Riot of 1908, the NAACP has led the way in thought and action for civil rights. We are indeed the nation’s conscience to civil and human rights, and the world’s example of advocacy. We must continue to fight and stand for what is right, for all!

At last, the Metropolitan Kalamazoo Branch is pleased to host (in-person) its 42nd Annual Freedom Fund Banquet. We have been unable to assemble and honor the work of individuals and organizations in our community since 2019. This year, we are excited to be able to gather and finally celebrate our 75th milestone! Our theme is “Membership is Power.”  Our goal is to increase our membership so that we will be an even stronger force in the community, and as a result, a portion of your ticket includes your membership in this historic and transformative organization. Join us as we commemorate 75+ years in the greater Kalamazoo community, October 23, 2022, 5:00pm at the Radisson Plaza Hotel (100 West Michigan Ave., Kalamazoo, MI).

We appreciate the support you have shown us over the years and ask that you continue to support our efforts by purchasing a sponsorship or an ad in our Virtual Souvenir Booklet. We will run your ad during the Celebration and feature it on our website from October 2022 through October 2023. This will allow your business or organization to have ongoing advertisement throughout the year.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our Freedom Fund Chairperson, Lola Clark Atkinson @ 269-547-0326.
