A Message from the Chairperson
Greetings Friends,

We are excited to invite you to the Metropolitan Kalamazoo Branch of the NAACP’s 44th Annual Freedom Fund Banquet! Our banquet will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, 5:00pm, at the Radisson Plaza Hotel, 100 West Michigan Avenue, Kalamazoo, MI.
In 1946, eighty-seven culturally diverse residents established the Metropolitan Kalamazoo Branch of the NAACP. The mission then and continues to be today is to achieve equality and equity for the most marginalized and disenfranchised people, particularly Black people, and people of color.
Our Theme this year is THRIVING TOGETHER. We are dedicated and committed to ensuring the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all people and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination in this community. We cannot do this work alone; it is going to take an intentional collective effort by all of us, we know it can be done! We need you to join us in this work!
The Freedom Fund Banquet is our major annual fundraiser and the support you have shown us over the years is appreciated. We ask for your continued support by way of being a sponsor or via the purchase of an ad in our Virtual Program Souvenir booklet. This booklet will be viewed during our Freedom Fund event and on our website from October 2023 to October 2024. The socialization of your advertisement will assist with your business or organization’s visibility and demonstrate your support of the work of the MKBNAACP.
Please see the attached form for pricing information. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our Freedom Fund Chair, Lola Clark Atkinson, at 269-547-0326.
Sincerely,
Wendy Y. Fields Lola Clark Atkinson
